Dream comes true for Sulphur teen with rare disease

We are thrilled to share an update on a Sulphur teen with a rare disease that we introduced you to in March.

Brother and sister, Sam and Sydni Dupre, have Friedreich's Ataxia. This is a disease threatening their lives with no cure and no medication to treat it.

Sam depends on a wheelchair for mobility, but dreamed about being able to walk across the stage to get his high school diploma at Sulphur High School's graduation to get his diploma.

Last Thursday night, Sam did just that! He walked across the stage holding on to his therapists, only for support. He did not need his walker and the entire Lake Charles Civic Center crowd rose to its feet to give him a standing ovation.

Well done, Sam!
