Crisp Academy advances to State Semifinals
The Crisp Academy Wildcats are again on their way to the GISA State Semifinals.
Crisp beat Robert Toombs 8-5 in Game 1 in Cordele.
The Wildcats overcame several early base-running mistakes to break the game open in the 4th inning.
In Game 2, the Crusaders led 9-5 in the 5th before the Wildcats tied the ballgame at 9 in the 7th.
The two teams traded blows before Crisp pulled away 14-11.
End of the line for Patriots
The Randolph Southern Patriots are no more.
The school is closing at the end of the school year, meaning the baseball program would shut down forever when their 2013 season came to an end.
That happened Friday.
The Patriots were swept at David Emanuel, 8-6 and 14-1.
Terrell Academy must win two
Terrell Academy went down early and just couldn't stop the bleeding against Edmund Burke Thursday.
The Spartans led 9-0 after three on their way to a 15-0 five-inning win.
Now the Eagles must win two games Saturday in Dawson if they want to keep their season alive.
First pitch is at noon.
Tiftarea forces Game 3 against Tattnall

Tattnall took Game 1, 4-1.
But it was the Panthers forcing a decisive Game 3 with a 6-3 win in Game 2.
Now the two teams will meet at 2:00 with a ticket to the state semifinals on the line.
