All fourth graders at Vincent Settlement pass LEAP test

CARLYSS, LA (KPLC) - It was a happy day at Vincent Settlement Elementary School.

School officials received news that all of their fourth graders passed the LEAP (Louisiana Educational Assessment Program) test.

Officials said the students were thrilled.

"We let the teachers tell them this morning," said Principal Pam LeDoux. "You could hear the roar down the hall!"

There are about 75 students in fourth grade at the school.

LeDoux said the good news is the result of hard work by students, teachers and the support of parents.

"It's a lot of pressure for 4th graders," she said. "If they don't pass, they have to do summer school or retake a grade. It's been a really good day for us."
