Daylight revealed the extent of severe weather as a line of storms moved through Southwest Louisiana overnight.

7 Stormteam meteorologist Ben Terry was out first thing Friday morning to check out reports of damage in Cameron and Calcasieu parishes from the hail and rain the area received.

A tornado reportedly passed through the area of East Tank Farm Road in Lake Charles, but those reports are pending confirmation by the National Weather Service.

KPLC also collected many separate reports of damage throughout Southwest Louisiana:

Sulphur Mayor Chris Duncan said that the old Wal-Mart where Business Health Partners is located has suffered a collapsed roof on the northeast side.

Also, in Cameron Parish, along the La. 385 Gulf Highway near Grand Lake, road construction has combined with several inches of rain, making the road barely passable.

In fact, Grand Lake High School even canceled classes on Friday due to road conditions.

Additionally, Cameron Parish Sheriff's officials said the Fun Day that they had scheduled on Saturday at Grand Lake High School has been canceled. The event will be rescheduled, officials said.

Damage was also reported in Beauregard and Allen parishes.
