Lawmakers discuss change in tax credits for movie industry

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

An issue targeting the movie industry highlighted bills with amendments regarding the budget at the Louisiana Capitol on Friday.

The work continues as the House of Representatives nears passage of its version of the state budget.

The big movement in the House chambers surrounded an amendment that would affect tax credits given to the movie industry.

Changes included reducing the credits given to out-of-state vendors by five percent, but not affecting in-state companies.
