Barbe Faces Familiar Foe

The Barbe Buccaneers are hoping to repeat as state champions in baseball.

but to do it they will have to defeat an altogether familiar foe, a school that has revenge very much on its mind.

Here's Seth Lewis in New Orleans.

Barbe vs West Monroe. A renewed rivalry. But this time, on a field that most don't associate with the bitter encounter. But don't let that fool you, as this baseball rivalry dates back to playoff games in the 90s to even their two regular season matchups this year

But the last buccaneers/rebels matchup on every ones mind is from November 30th, when Barbe football completed the "Miracle on McNeese St." to defeat West Monroe and advance to the 5A state title. Something the Buccaneers will remember for a lifetime, and something the Rebels won't soon forget.

So if the past tells us anything, it tells us tomorrow at, fans should be in store for a good one. At your service in New Orleans, Seth Lewis KPLC 7 Sports.
