LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A hurricane season public forum will be held Friday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury government building.

Congressman Charles Boustany, the National Weather Service's Roger Erickson and Tim Osborn of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will be on hand.

The event will include a briefing on the 2013 season and discussion on needs and preparations.

The CPPJ government building is located at 1015 Pithon Street in Lake Charles.
