Originally from Lake Charles, LA, comedian Jen Kober bounded onto the national stage bringing crowds to their feet with her original blend of stand-up, storytelling and improv. Now, Kober is bringing her funny antics to L'Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles, where she will perform every Wednesday night in June, July and August at Jack Daniel's Bar & Grill. Dubbed Jen Kober's Homegrown Comedy Show, this hometown girl promises a fresh new act each week with an array of guest entertainers and hilarious audience participation.

Kober performs her phenomenally funny routine at venues around the country.  She can currently be seen on The Mindy Project on FOX, on Standup In Stilettos hosted by Kate Flannery, on Anger Management starring Charlie Sheen on FX and on stage headlining at comedy clubs coast-to-coast. She also played Andrea Cazayoux on HBO's Treme; Dale Mann on Season 8 of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm and recently filmed a scene in the movie Grudge Match with the legendary actor Robert DeNiro.

Jen Kober's Homegrown Comedy Show will be at L'Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles every Wednesday in June, July and August beginning June 5, 2013. The shows at Jack Daniel's Bar & Grill cost just $10 and begin at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale now at www.ticketmaster.com , the L'Auberge Business Center or Legends at L'Auberge. Tickets will be available at the door the night of each show; cash only please.  Must be 21 to attend.

    Theaters around the country including right here in Lake Charles are selling out for the movie Black panther.  But for many in the community they got a chance to see the movie for free, thanks to one Lake Charles native.  The mall food court was packed Saturday.  As a large group enjoyed their tea,lemonade, pizza and boudin, but the mall food court wasn't their final stop.     It's been more than five years in the making, but Saturday Captain Daniel Johannes Goos now stands over the lakefront in Lake Charles.  Crowds of people gathered by the Lakefront Promenade this morning all waiting to see the the statue of Captain Daniel Johannes Goos.  "When you mention Captain Daniel Goos you may get he sounds familiar or if you're lucky you get oh like Goosport," said descendant Erik Jessen.
