Cameron voters decide tax propositions

Cameron Parish voters decided a list of tax items on Saturday. Here's how they fared:

Parishwide Police Jury Proposition 1, a property tax renewal for 2.64 mills to maintain courthouse and jail

For: 54.35 percent, or 375 votes

Against: 45.65 percent, 315 votes


Parishwide Police Jury Proposition 2, a property tax renewal for 6.61 mills for road and bridge maintenance

For: 58.21 percent, or 404 votes

Against: 41.79 percent, or 290 votes


Parishwide Proposition 3, a property tax renewal for 1.32 mills for Cameron Parish Health Center

For: 53.09 percent, 369 votes
Against: 46.91 percent, or 326 votes

School Board proposition 1, a property tax continuation for 8.5 mills to maintain schools

For: 44.97 percent, or 313 votes
Against: 55.03 percent, or 383 votes


School Board proposition 2, a property tax continuation for 6 mills to improve and maintain schools.

For: 44.30 percent,or 307 votes
Against: 55.70 percent, or 386 votes
