LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A major upset in the race to fill the Lake Charles City Council District A.

Challenger Mary Morris beat incumbent Marshall Simien.

With all 10 precincts reporting, Morris received 759 votes (54 percent) to Simien's 654 votes (46 percent).

The results are complete but unofficial from the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court's Office.
