All-time record low temperatures were set across the area on Saturday morning.
Lake Charles officially dropped to 42 which is now the coldest morning ever on record for the month of May.
The previous record of 45 degrees was set back on May 3, 1929.
Lafayette dropped to 44 which tied the record low for the day which was set in 1954 and 1921.
However, Lafayette did not break its all-time record low for May which still stands at 42 set back on May 3, 1929.
Beaumont also set an all-time record low for May, and Alexandria tied the all-time record low for May set back in 1954.
Unusually cold temperatures will continue Saturday night with lows again dropping into the 40s, again near record territory.
Low temperatures are running about 20 degrees below normal for this time of year which should be in the low 60s.
Warmer weather returns early next week.
