LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A man accused of killing two women was found competent to stand trial in 14th Judicial District Court.

Mark Wayne Thibodeaux is accused in the deaths of 50-year-old Bridgette Pryor and 25-year-old Carla Ledoux. A sanity hearing in the case was held Wednesday.

Autopsies confirmed the women died of multiple stab wounds, authorities said.

The women were found dead on North Prater Street in Lake Charles in January 2012.

Authorities, at the time, said a third victim was present the night of the murders and received several injuries from Thibodeaux.

Thibodeaux is facing charges of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
