Fire at vacant home spreads to neighboring home

Good Evening,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on for Nightcast.

An early morning fire at vacant home on Monroe Street spreads to a neighboring home. Three residents inside managed to escape, but the damage left behind leaves them homeless.

Plus, motorcyclists from across the state rallied at the State Capitol to launch a month long campaign on motorcycle safety. We'll tell you how they plan to educate other motorists.

Also 5th graders from across the parish put on their dancing shoes for the annual "Dancing Classrooms" competition. KPLC's Gerron Jordan explains how the program is teaching the students much more than just all the right moves.

And she brought down the house last night at Lake Charles Central School… in case you missed you'll hear more from the Queen of Zydeco.

Seth Lewis has you covered in Sports… more highlights and reaction from two local teams who took home state titles at the Fast Pitch 56 tournament.

And more rain chances as we start our work week. Meteorologist Cedric Haynes has your forecast.

We'll see you tonight at ten for all this and more. Until then we're always on at kplctv.com.
