BATON ROUGE, LA (KPLC) -

Gov. Bobby Jindal's administration on Friday released a new proposal to restore budget funding for several programs.

The House Appropriations Committee will take up House Bill 1, the state's budget bill, on Monday.

A news release from Jindal says the administration worked with stakeholders on the proposal after listening to public testimony.

The proposal will include $700,000 for breast and cervical cancer screenings at LSU hospitals, $1 million toward the family violence prevention program, $1.1 million for the senior prescription program and $1.3 million in additional funding for the State Police's concealed handgun permit unit.
