Boys Village holds grand opening

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Boys Village held a grand opening celebration of its newly rebuilt administration building on Friday.

Officials cut the red ribbon wrapped around the new administration building.

The building replaces the old one which burned down two and a half years ago.

The community helped Boys Village recover by offering supplies and equipment.

"Today, we're going to celebrate the reopening of our new administration building. Our original building burned down in November of 2010. It's been a long process but with the help of the community and some great people, we're going to celebrate our new building. We have a lot more space here. We've been able to bring in staff who were housed in other offices around the campus so we've been able to get everybody into one building. We have a designated room we call the ‘counseling center,' and so we can bring our families in and have some privacy in a nice atmosphere where they can meet with our clinical directors, our therapists," said Max Mathieu, executive director of Boys Village.

Founded in 1947, Boys Village is located along Hwy. 90 in Lake Charles.
