Preliminary report: Two rotor blades missing from helicopter in Cameron crash

GRAND LAKE, LA (KPLC) - Preliminary information from the National Transportation Safety Board shows that two tail rotor blades were missing and never recovered from the wreckage of last month's deadly helicopter crash in Cameron Parish near Grand Lake.

The March 15 crash claimed the lives of three men who worked for a company based at ERA Helicopters at the Lake Charles Airport.

Killed were William R. Croucher, 69, of California, the pilot of the aircraft; as well as mechanics, 55-year-old Michael Lee Tyree of Iowa, La., and 41-year-old Timothy Lloyd Goehring, of Sulphur.

The NTSB is still investigating the exact cause of the crash, which could take 12 to 18 months to complete, officials said.
