*Legislators snuffed out a proposed tax hike on cigarettes at the State Capitol, but this might not be the end of it. We'll tell you where the bill goes from here.
*The state senate has now joined the house in supporting a bill that would outlaw an abortion practice. Right now, the law requires doctors who prescribe the drugs used to terminate pregnancies be on site with the patient.
*Federal and state investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire that set off a massive explosion at a Texas fertilizer plant last week in the town of West. Authorities say there no signs of criminal intent.
*How prepared is Southwest Louisiana if we faced a scenario like the explosion in West, Texas? We'll talk to emergency preparedness officials about that today.
