SCOTUS TOBACCO MARKETING-TOPVO

U-S TOBACCO COMPANIES HAVE LOST THEIR LATEST LEGAL FIGHT AGAINST GOVERNMENT LIMITS ON ADVERTISING.

TODAY THE U-S SUPREME COURT UPHELD THE 2009 FAMILY SMOKING PREVENTION AND TOBACCO CONTROL ACT.

IT GIVES THE GOVERNMENT THE AUTHORITY TO REGULATE THE SALE AND PROMOTION OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS.

UNDER THE LAW, TOBACCO COMPANIES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SPONSOR PUBLIC EVENTS, OFFER FREE PRODUCT SAMPLES OR BRANDED MERCHANDISE.
