White Handles Purple 37-0 in LSU Spring Game

The new look LSU offense passed the eye-test Saturday, as the White team led by Zach Mettenberger cruised to a 37-0 victory over the Purple Team

Mettenberger finished 12 of 19 for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Backup Stephen Rivers also had an impressive day, going 7 of 10 for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

Jeremy Hill lead all rushers with 103 yards on 13 carries. Odell Beckham led all receivers with six catches for 202 yards and two touchdowns, including a 79-yard connection with Mettenberger.

On defense, Danielle Hunter had two sacks and eight tackles total to lead the White squad. Lamin Barrow had seven tackles while Craig Loston had an interception.

The countdown now begins to August 31st, when LSU travels to Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas to take on TCU.

    Police have confirmed a man died earlier this week inside the Sulphur City Jail. According to Mel Estess, spokesman for the Sulphur Police Department, the man was arrested Tuesday, put in a cell alone, and died. Police are not giving any word on how he died or releasing his identity. The coroner's report is not complete according to Estess. KPLC will update this story as more information becomes available.
