Canoe Fest underway in Allen Parish

OBERLIN, LA (KPLC) -

The 2nd Annual Allen Parish Canoe Festival is underway in Oberlin.

The event takes place at the Allen Parish Fairgrounds.

It features carnival rides, games, food, vendors, entertainment and more.

Admission will be $5 for adults, and $2 for children age 12 and under.

All proceeds from the festival go toward St. Jude's Research Hospital.

Here's a look at the festival schedule:

Friday, April 19:

 4 p.m. – Gates open

5 p.m. – Backyard Boys

5 p.m. to 11 p.m. – Beer Garden

7 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie

10 p.m. – Festival closes

 

Saturday, April 20:

8 a.m. – Gates open and cook-off begins

9 a.m. – Carnival rides begin

10 p.m. to 11 p.m. – Beer Garden

Noon – Ranch Rodeo in the rodeo arena; and cook-off judging begins

8 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Jaryd Lane
