Authorities responded Wednesday to a fire at Exxon-Mobil in Beaumont.
KBMT-TV in Beaumont reports that 12 contract employees were injured in the blaze in a processing unit which was under maintenance.
The fire reportedly happened around 10:30 a.m.
Over a dozen ambulances responded.
Exxon is investigating the matter.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. the ExxonMobil Beaumont Refinery experienced a fire within a process unit that was down for maintenance. The fire was quickly brought under control and has been extinguished. At this time, 12 contract employee injuries have been reported. Of these, 6 workers are being transported to hospitals for further medical evaluation and treatment. ExxonMobil is working with all the appropriate local authorities. All employees and contractors working in the area have been accounted for.
We sincerely regret this has happened and will conduct a complete investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
