LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

The average weight for a baby born in America is 7 1/2 pounds. That is why one baby in Lake Charles is turning heads!

Callen DeVille was born on Tuesday morning, weighing in at 11 pounds 2 ounces and measuring 23 inches long. He is the first child for new parents, Jodi and Corey DeVille of Lake Charles.

Jodi says she had a smooth pregnancy and at her last ultrasound appointment, on Monday, her baby was estimated to be about 10 pounds.

The next day, Callen was born via c-section by Dr. Matthew Scroggs. The whole crew was surprised to see just how big this newborn actually turned out to be.

Callen weighed in at 11 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 23 inches long. Dr. Matthew Scroggs delivered Callen by C-Section. This is the couple's first baby.

Mom and baby are doing fine and the family is expected to be headed home any moment now.

This is not the largest baby in Memorial for Women's history. In March 2010, Dr. David Darbonne delivered a baby that weighed in at 12 pounds 14 ounces.
