Mayor Roach responds to TIF defeat

Good Evening,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for Nightcast.

Southwest Louisiana voters went to the polls Saturday and made a number of decisions including one to not activate a TIF district along the Lakefront. Had it passed it would have authorized the City of Lake Charles to subsidize a portion of the cost of a proposed hotel and make infrastructure improvements in other areas along the Lakefront. Tonight Mayor Randy Roach responds to the defeat of the TIF and where the City goes from here.

We'll also have a recap of other races and runoffs set for May 4th.

Plus, everything was coming up roses for the SWLA Rose Society. We'll show you the blossoms of all their hard work on the Spring Rose Tour.

Also we shared the big surprise of the last surviving Lake Charles "Borden's Ladies" last night. Tonight you'll hear more from the Jessie Doolan and the people whose lives she touched.

A big difference from last week in the weather department, but how much longer can we enjoy it? – Meteorologist Cedric Haynes has your forecast.

We'll see you tonight at ten for these stories and more. Until then we're always on at kplctv.com.
