Lake Charles City Council seats decided

There will be a runoff in the Lake Charles City Councilman, District A, race.

Marshall Simien Jr. garnered 38.25 percent or 552 votes in the race to Mary Morris' 35.27 percent, or 509 votes.

Candidate Kecee Lewis had 26.47 percent, or 382 votes in the race.

Luvertha August has won the Lake Charles City Council, District B, seat. August had 82.19 percent, or 406 votes in the race. Lionel H. Taylor had 17.81 percent, or 88 votes in the race.

Also, Mark Eckard has won the Lake Charles City Council, District G, race. Eckard had 70.46 percent of the votes in the race to candidate Khalid Taha's 29.54 percent.
