CPSO looking for suspect in Dollar General robbery

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect in the robbery of a Lake Charles store.

According to a news release from the Sheriff's Office, on March 28, at approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Dollar General Store, located at 5725 Highway 14 in Lake Charles, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, authorities said deputies spoke with the store clerk who said that a man entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanding money.

After stealing an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said the man reportedly fled the store on foot.

Authorities said deputies conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. 

The suspect is described as a light skinned black man, between 25 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches with side burns and a thin mustache.

The man was reportedly wearing prescription glasses, a gray hoodie, black jeans and a black rag under a black baseball cap.
