La Tech's White named NABC Coach of the Year

RUSTON, LA (KSLA/Louisiana Tech Sports Information) -

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Michael White as the 2013 District 6 Coach of the Year and guard Raheem Appleby as a first-team member of the All-District team.

The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches who vote on the districts within Division I.

The awards are presented in 24 different districts with District 6 consisting of coaches and players only from the Western Athletic Conference and the Big Sky Conference.

Coach White led his Bulldogs to a 27-7 overall record, the second most wins in the program's 84-year history, and a 16-2 mark in conference that earned the team their first ever WAC regular season championship.

    PLEASANT GROVE, Texas -- Pleasant Grove's three-star linebacker Xavier Benson announced Monday he has verbally committed to Texas Tech.  The 6'3, 200-pound senior had previously announced he would be making his decision on July 30th. He had received 22 scholarship offers to play football prior to making his decision.
