‘Roses in the Pines’ fest Friday, Saturday in Rosepine

ROSEPINE, LA (KPLC) -

The Rosepine Historical Society will host its annual festival celebrating the history of the town on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20.

The event will be held in a parking lot off U.S. 171 located at the red light in Rosepine.

Vendors will offer food and crafts.

There will be country and gospel music.

Children's activities will also be available.

    It's been almost five months since the death of Sgt. Tracy Morgan, who served as a crisis negotiator for Louisiana State Police for more than 20 years. 

    Morgan died in January after collapsing from a heart attack while on duty. Morgan was a member of Glad Tidings church in Lake Charles and is described as not only a great state trooper, but an even greater man.
