West LA BBQ Cookoff is Saturday

LEESVILLE, LA (KPLC) -

The West Louisiana Forestry Festival will host its 3rd annual West Louisiana BBQ Cookoff on Saturday, April 6 at the Vernon Parish Fairgrounds in Leesville.

Categories will include chicken, ribs and brisket, among others.

Spaces are also available for vendors.

The event is free to the public.

There will be jumpers for children as well as live entertainment.

    Deputies are investigating a suspicious death East of DeRidder, according to Chief Detective Mark Herford, Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office.  The office was notified of the body around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, says Herford.
