CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A man was sentenced Monday on drug distribution charges in Calcasieu, according to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office.

Kenneth Montgomery was sentenced to 30 years in the Department of Corrections for cocaine distribution.

Judge Clayton Davis was the sentencing judge.

Montgomery was found guilty by a jury on Jan. 11 of two counts of distribution of CDS II (cocaine).

Davis sentenced Montgomery to 30 years in prison on each count, to run concurrently.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Brett Gaspard.

The state also filed a Habitual Offender Bill, which Montgomery is denying. A hearing for the denial is set April 17.
