LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Law enforcement in Southwest Louisiana gained 30 men and four women on Thursday as the 104th class of the Calcasieu Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy graduated officers and deputies.
Allen Parish Sheriff Doug Hebert gave the keynote address, sharing with the cadets the importance of honoring their role as law enforcement officers in the area.
The 34 cadets represent 13 different law enforcement agencies from Allen, Beauregard, Jeff Davis, Cameron and Calcasieu parishes.
The cadets said they are ready to get to work.
The training academy lasts 11 weeks and is hosted by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.
