CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Easter Sunday typically has folks dressed to the nines for church services, sporting new duds, purchased for that day. But for many families, tight budgets might keep them from having that shopping opportunity and it is not just felt around holidays - it is something affecting them all year.
That community need, for families that cannot buy the clothes they need, has sparked a big idea and it will all play out on Good Friday.
There will be a free clothes giveaway with gently used men's, women's, children's and baby clothing, as well as shoes.
The project started at Bethany Baptist Church in LeBleu, then First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. This year, it is at Water's Edge at 2760 Power Center Parkway in Lake Charles.
The free clothes giveaway starts at 8 a.m. and will go on until there are no clothes and shoes left.
The only request is that you get only what you and your family needs and donate the clothes again when you cannot use them any more.
