LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A Lake Charles couple is accused of stealing vehicles.
According to a news release from Louisiana State Police, 49-year-old Katherine Larocca and 51-year-old Ronnie Larocca were arrested Tuesday following an investigation by Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud detectives.
Authorities said in October 2011, detectives received information about suspected stolen property from a LoJack asset tracking system. Authorities said the information led detectives to the Larocca home.
A search of the property and residence led to the recovery of an assortment of stolen vehicles, farm equipment and trailers, according to authorities.
"During the one year and five month-long investigation, detectives learned that the recovered property had been reported stolen to authorities in Texas and Louisiana. The total estimated value of the recovered property is approximately $165,000," troopers said in a release. Authorities said earlier this month, the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana secured an indictment for the Laroccas. The indictment charged the couple with one count each of criminal conspiracy and three counts each of sale or receipt of a stolen vehicle.
Both were taken into custody without incident Tuesday afternoon with the assistance of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities said additional arrests are expected and this case remains under investigation.
