Sandstone Trail on Kisatchie National Forest closed - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Sandstone Trail on Kisatchie National Forest closed through April 27

The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service has announced that the the Sandstone Trail, located on the Kisatchie Ranger District of the Kisatchie National Forest (KNF), has been closed for routine winter maintenance.

The trail will remain closed through Saturday, April 27. 

According to a press release from the USDA Forest Service, the work that will be done on the trail will include general maintenance as well as improvements to bridge approachments and hardening creek crossings.

There should be much less rain than yesterday. With the low coverage of rain and clouds, we will have hot temperatures reaching the mid 90s this afternoon. We are under a heat advisory from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm. Overnight, we will have mostly clear skies with temperatures in the upper 70s.
