LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Lake Charles is once again up for the title of "Cleanest City."

To help the city win again this year, dozens of "green" volunteers showed up to help pick up litter in the downtown area.

Volunteers said even the tiniest cigarette butt can make a difference.

Students from Barbe High School's Student Council joined the Junior Team Green to make the effort happen.

Time is of the essence. The judges will be in the city on Wednesday.
