BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A St. Tammany Parish lawmaker is asking state employees for their ideas about how to make Louisiana government more efficient.
Rep. John Schroder, a Republican from Covington, has set up a special email address for comments and recommendations at email@example.com.
Schroder is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, which is combing through the governor's budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year that begins July 1. In a statement Monday, Schroder said that employees know best about the inner workings of state agencies and that no one could offer more insight than they can.
The statement advises that state workers must offer their suggestions on their own time and with their own computers, not during their work hours.
