JEFF DAVIS PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office is reporting yet another arrest involving crawfish theft in the parish.

According to Christopher Ivey, commander of the department's investigations division, 31-year-old Jeremy Chaisson, of Jennings, was arrested Saturday at a crawfish pond on Lyons Road.

Authorities said Chaisson was caught with two sacks of live crawfish. He allegedly stole them from his employer, Cody's Seafoods, at the establishment's crawfish pond.

Chaisson was booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail on theft of crawfish charges.

Jeff Davis authorities have made several arrests related to stolen crawfish in recent weeks.
