VINTON, LA (KPLC) -

One family in Vinton is looking for answers after two of their cats have come back with some serious injuries.

Steve and Terri Borders say two of their cats have been shot with pellet guns.

The cats survived, but one lost a leg.

The Borders say other cats in their neighborhood were targeted, too.

Vinton Police and Calcasieu Animal Services are investigating.

Authorities say, however, that without any leads or tips, it is hard to identify a perpetrator. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Vinton Police Department.
