After they lost in the semifinals of the Southland Conference tournament last week, the McNeese Cowgirls thought their season might be over.
They weren't going to the NCAA tournament and it seemed very unlikely that the women's NIT would come calling.
But yesterday, the ladies decided to have practice anyway, just in case something great happened.
And last night after practice, it did.
The Women's Basketball Invitational offered the Cowgirls a bid in their postseason tournament, which means Ashlyn Baggett, Caitlyn Baggett, and the rest of the McNeese women still have something to play for.
