Early voting wraps up Saturday for April 6 election

Early voting for the April 6 election ends Saturday.

Early voting takes place at parish Registrar of Voters' offices. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Find more early voter information HERE.

There are a number of municipal races in parishes across Southwest Louisiana on the April 6 ballot. A number of tax items will also be decided.

    The fatal shooting of an 18-year-old soldier at Fort Polk is now a criminal investigation. Private Jacob Malcolm of Hedgesville, West Virginia, was fatally shot on April 12 in a residence at the base. Kim Reischling, spokeswoman for the U.S. Army's Criminal Investigation Command, says that the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.
