DRY CREEK, LA (KPLC) -

A Dry Creek man is accused of a list of sex charges as well as home invasion after authorities say he was found in a child's bedroom.

According to a news release from the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office, 21-year-old Christopher L. Bounds has been charged with one count of aggravated rape, one count of aggravated second-degree battery, one count of battery of a police officer, one count of resisting arrest and one count of home invasion.

Toler said authorities received the report early Sunday.

"We received a report of a man found in the bedroom with an 8-year-old female. Detectives learned that upon discovery, the man struck the mother of the child in the face and then fled the residence," Toler said in a release.

Toler also said when deputies were arresting Bounds, he kicked and attempted to bite them. Toler said deputies were executing a search warrant for DNA samples at the time.

According to Toler, detectives, patrol personnel, chase team members and forensics personnel investigated.

According to Judge Martha O'Neal, Bounds' bond has been set at $300,000 which is an aggregate of four of the five charges. On the fifth charge, the aggravated rape charge, no bond was set, meaning Bounds will not be able to bond out.

Cindy has now become a tropical depression and is continuing to weaken as it makes its way further inland. We will still experience windy conditions through tonight. A few showers are also possible. There are a few areas with high water levels and a few showers could cause some localized flooding. The good news is, we are not expecting significant amounts of rain. Overnight, we could have a few showers and temperatures will cool to the upper 70s.
