Crash Victims Identified

HELLO EVERYONE. THIS IS CYNTHIA ARCENEAUX FROM THE KPLC NEWSROOM. FAA INVESTIGATORS ARE AT THE SITE OF THIS MORNING'S HELICOPTER CRASH IN CAMERON PARISH WHICH CLAIMED THE LIVES OF THREE PEOPLE.

CAMERON PARISH SHERIFF RON JOHNSON SAYS 69 YEAR OLD WILLIAM R. CROUCHER OF CALIFORNIA WAS THE PILOT. ALSO ON BOARD, TWO LOCAL MECHANICS... 55 YEAR OLD MICHAEL LEE TYREE OF IOWA AND 41 YEAR OLD TIMOTHY LLYOD GOERHING OF SULPHUR. THE CHOPPER WHICH WAS BASED OUT OF LAKE CHARLES REGIONAL AIRPORT HAD LEFT THE AIRPORT THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE CRASHING, ACCORDING TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION. THE CHOPPER WENT DOWN JUST SOUTH OF THE CALCASIEU-CAMERON PARISH LINE, BURNING ALONG THE NORTHERN BOUNDARY OF CAMERON PARISH. WE'LL HAVE FURTHER UPDATES ON THE STORY AND BRING YOU THE FIRST PICTURES FROM THE CRASH SCENE TONIGHT ON NIGHTCAST.

ALSO TONIGHT AT TEN... A SMALL PLANE SLAMMED INTO A FLORIDA PARKING LOT, KILLING THE THREE PEOPLE ON BOARD. NO ONE ON THE GROUND WAS INJURED WHEN THE PLANE CRASHED INTO A WEARHOUSE AREA SHORTLY AFTER TAKE OFF IN FORT LAUDERDALE.  THE IMPACT SET SEVERAL VEHICLES ON THE PARKING LOT ON FIRE.  THESE STORIES AND MORE TONIGHT AT TEN ON NIGHTCAST.
