LOS ANGELES, CA (KSLA) -

There were conflicting reports Friday night about the condition of rapper and Louisiana native Lil Wayne.

The entertainment news web site TMZ reported on Friday evening that Lil Wayne had been given his last rites while comatose at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. But a Twitter tweet allegedly from Lil Wayne says that he is stable and is watching a basketball game, TMZ and other news outlets have reported.

TMZ also reports that the mother of Lil Wayne, also known as Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.,  has flown to Los Angeles to be by his side.

Earlier on Friday, TMZ reported that the rapper was in a medically induced coma after coming to the hospital for treatment of multiple seizures. Later, a friend of Lil Wayne tweeted that the rapper was fine, resting and watching television.
