LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - On Thursday night, the Salvation Army held its 5th Annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser.
The ballroom at L'Auberge was full of excitement as people entered the event.
Empty Bowl Chairman Michelle Johns said, "I appreciate all of the generosity in our community. It's overwhelming how many people are just so generous for the Salvation Army."
Twelve different soups were donated by local chefs, and everyone who attended received a one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl made by local artists.
"Without this event, our budget would fall short," Corps Officer Major David Craddock said. "We wouldn't be able to continue the services we provide all year so this provides the extra funds for our fiscal year."
All of the proceeds went to the Salvation Army of Lake Charles.
