VINTON, LA (KPLC) -

Two Vinton residents are facing drug charges, according to a news release from the Louisiana State Police.

Troopers said as a result of an undercover investigation conducted by State Police, on Tuesday, agents with the State Police Bureau of Investigations, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and the Vinton Police Department arrested 32-year-old Terrence Budwine for distribution of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) at his residence.

Budwine was also wanted for violation of his probation, troopers said.

Troopers said at the time of the arrest, Budwine was in possession of a small quantity of Xanax. He was also charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (Xanax) and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone (near a school).

While at the home, troopers said agents encountered 20-year-old Lacy Courmier, who was arrested for possession of a schedule IV substance (Xanax) and resisting an officer. Both were booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.

Total bond on Budwine was set at $625,000; and bond for Courmier was set at $55,000.

Through the day today expect hot and mostly sunny conditions. Feels-like temperatures expected to reach between 100-105 this afternoon. I can’t rule out a pop-up afternoon shower, but chances remain low. Most of us will remain dry through the day today and overnight.
