LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A few housekeeping items will need to be taken care of before developer Roger Landry can close the deal on the old Sears retail site.

According to the buy-sell agreement, Landry was to close on the property 15 days after accepting the deal. The deadline was Tuesday, March 12.

However, Lake Charles City Attorney Billy Loftin said there are several minor curative items in the title report that need to be cured before closing.

An extension has been granted and they don't think it will be problematic.

Landry is proposing a $20 million dollar mixed-use development of luxury apartments with retail.
