LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
If you're one of those football fans who really can't stand the offseason, then you're in luck.
The offseason ends this Saturday when the Louisiana Swashbucklers play their season opener at the Lake Charles Civic Center, better known as the Smuggler's Den.
The Swashbucklers finished 6-and-6 last season, made the playoffs, but lost in the first round.
This year, with a new quarterback and key additions at the skill positions, the Swashbucklers hope to return to the form that brought them championships as recently as 2009.
The Swashbucklers will answer a lot of questions right away when they open the 2013 season against the Albany Panthers, the two-time defending champion of the league.
