They are celebrating in Grant after the Fairview Lady Panthers won their seventh straight state championship this week in Monroe.
Fairview beat Lacassine 71-38. It was the fourth time in the past seven years that the Lady Panthers have beaten the Lady Cardinals in the state finals.
It was another tough finals loss for the Lady Cardinals, and a tough ending for head coach Eddie Mikalko, who is retiring after a long, successful career in Louisiana girls basketball.
