JEFF DAVIS PARISH, LA (KPLC) -
An Elton man is accused of livestock theft and criminal trespassing, according to a news release from the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said 47-year-old Duane Jones was booked into the Jeff Davis Jail.
No bond has been set in the case.
Christopher Ivey, commander of the criminal investigations division, said the theft of livestock warrant stemmed from an ongoing investigation worked by the Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission and Jeff Davis authorities involving alleged theft of livestock.
Ivey said the criminal trespassing warrant came from months of investigation into complaints that Jones was hunting on leased land.
