CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Due to weather conditions, the danger of wildfire in Southwest Louisiana is "very high," according to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry's daily fire weather forecast.

Calcasieu, Allen, Jeff Davis and Acadia parishes are in "very high" danger. Beauregard measures at "medium" danger and Vernon is measuring at "high."

With "very high" fire danger, fires start readily and spread quickly, officials say.

Resistance to control is also high as is the potential for large fires.

Fire behavior is also erratic and "blow up" potential is high.
