MOSS BLUFF, LA (KPLC) - There was a brief lockdown Monday morning at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff following a four-vehicle wreck in front of the school.

Authorities responded to the wreck around 8:49 a.m.

State troopers said a driver involved in the accident, Jeffrey Nickolas Monceaux, drove into the rear of another vehicle and then attempted to drive between two additional vehicles.

One of the other drivers was transported from the scene with moderate injuries, authorities said.

Monceaux reportedly attempted to flee the scene on foot and was subsequently arrested for DWI, careless operation and resisting arrest.

Monceaux was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $3,500.

The crash remains under investigation.

Calcasieu Parish School Board officials said the lockdown lasted less than 10 minutes and was in place after Monceaux reportedly fled the scene.

School officials witnessed this, officials said, and promptly locked the school down while the suspect was taken into custody.
